Robert continues to serve as a faculty member and guest lecturer for the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Orthopaedic Residency Program, and he has served as a guest lecturer for the University of Arizona Medical School Orthopaedic Residency Program. Robert has published articles that have appeared in such journals as Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy and The Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy. In 2000, Robert was the winner of The Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy & Ball Dynamics Award for Excellence in a Published Case Study. He has conducted several courses on topics such as hip/knee biomechanics, foot/ankle pathology, and manual therapy of the spine and shoulder. Robert has rehabilitated and trained both amateur and professional athletes. In his free time, Robert enjoys mountain biking, running and spending time with his family and friends. He resides in Oro Valley, AZ with his wife Karen, also a physical therapist, and their three sons, Noah, Matthew, and Drew.

Christi has worked as Front Office Manager for Athlon Physical Therapy, Oro Valley since its launch in 2007. She brings considerable expertise in office administration, transcription and secretarial and previous experience from Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, and Oncology practice management.

Christi grew up in Arizona but has traveled extensively throughout Asia and Europe where she met and married her husband, Ido. After living in the Netherlands for four years, they relocated back to Tucson where they have resided for the last ten years. They have two wonderful sons, Joshua (8) and Ethan (6). Christi enjoys being outdoors, hiking, camping and spending time with her family.

Personal Profile
As a licensed physical therapist Lukas will be furthering his clinical specialty in orthopeadics by completing the Orthopaedic Clinical Residency through a group based out of Army Baylor Medical Center and Regis University.
Lukas continues to be an active member of The American Physical Therapy Association, including the Orthopaedic Section, Neurology Section, and Sports Physical Therapy Section. He has experience through the University of Southern California in outpatient and inpatient orthopaedics, outpatient neurologic rehabilitation, and sports rehabilitation in the Eastern and Western US. Prior to his graduate education Lukas conducted published research at Cal Poly, SLO on the topic of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, and he continued during his doctoral education to aide in research in the Motor Behavior and Motor Control Laboratory at USC. In his free time, Lukas enjoys traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Lukas and his wife Mandy relocated to Tucson in 2007 and have continued to enjoy all that Southern Arizona has to offer. Originally from the Midwest, they have enjoyed the weather in particular.

After graduation, John worked in acute care hospital settings as well as outpatient rehabilitation. Specifically, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings ranging from private practice to the VA system. As a result of this, he has gained knowledge in multiple areas of physical therapy practice. John is a generalist practitioner in physical therapy, but especially enjoys working with orthopedic and neurological cases. John and his wife, Leilani relocated to Tucson in August of 2007. He enjoys golf, hiking, working out, skiing, and many other sports. John also likes listening to a variety of music and cooking for friends and family.

During her years at Northern Arizona University, Amanda served as a student clinician on campus, assisted leading aquatic therapy classes for patients with multiple sclerosis, and performed fall risk assessments for local skilled nursing facilities and healthy adult wellness groups. Amanda has practice experience through the university in both inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedic settings. She enjoys working with patients of all ages to enhance their function and well-being.

Amanda moved to Tucson in 2009 with her husband, Russell, who is also a physical therapist. Together they enjoy cycling, running, hiking, and playing softball. Amanda loves traveling, playing guitar, and supporting the Diamondbacks, even when they lose.

Grant is an Honors graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He subsequently attended the University of Arizona College of Medicine and graduated with his Doctorate of Medicine in 2004.

Grant has special interest in medical administration, healthcare reform, and the business dynamics of the healthcare industry. He subsequently completed a fellowship through the University of Arizona Health Policy and Law Institute within Arizona’s Medicaid entity (AHCCCS) in the Office of the Director. His focus included quality and utilization management, network development, and physician contracting in the managed care environment. Grant joined Athlon Physical Therapy in 2006 to perform comprehensive business development and patient service activities for the company within the Arizona market. Grant is a member of the Tucson Fiesta Bowl Committee and of the Tucson Desert Angels.

In his free time, Grant enjoys golf, rock climbing and attending University of Arizona athletic events. He resides in the Tucson foothills with his wife, Michelle.

Mandy received her undergraduate degree at Chadron State College in 2001, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2004, in her native state of Nebraska. Upon completion of her graduate studies, Mandy moved to the central coast of California. While there she was very fortunate to have opportunities to participate in two year long manual therapy sessions and worked directly with physical therapy residents and fellows associated with the Kaiser Permanente program.

She relocated to Tucson in 2007, and immediately felt right at home. That same year, Mandy became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) through The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This certification indicates Mandy possesses a greater depth of knowledge and skills related to her area of practice, placing her in an elite group of physical therapists nationwide. Clinically, her specialty is in orthopaedics and manual therapy, as well as developing a women’s health program in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions. Her clinical goal is to provide a professionally integrated approach to health and wellness. In September, she married her husband Lukas, who is also a physical therapist.

Katrin Hatch grew up Gilbert, Arizona. She relocated to Tucson after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, as well as a German minor and International Business Certificate. In addition to completing marketing internships with CNN International in Frankfurt, Germany and Helser Brothers in Chandler, Arizona, she has over five years of experience in various areas of health care including front and back office operations. Her passions include her husband, family, friends, cooking, traveling, hiking, swing dancing, Glacier National Park and all things German.

Gage received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Chemistry in 2005 from Northern Arizona University. In 2008, he received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. Gage’s internship training included direct mentoring with a Certified Hand Therapist and extensive training in the Mulligan concept, which focuses on mobilization with movement. Following graduation Gage began working at Athlon Physical Therapy in Tucson, Arizona. He has recently started an eighteen month residency program focusing on Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.

Gage’s clinical interests include manual physical therapy of the spine and extremities along with high intensity resistance training. Gage prefers to augment the standard pathoanatomic treatment paradigm with his extensive knowledge of kinesiopathology to facilitate rehabilitation of non-traumatic musculoskeletal pain.
