Mandy received her undergraduate degree at Chadron State College in 2001, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2004, in her native state of Nebraska.

Upon completion of her graduate studies, Mandy moved to the central coast of California. While there she was very fortunate to have opportunities to participate in two year long manual therapy sessions and worked directly with physical therapy residents and fellows associated with the Kaiser Permanente program.

She relocated to Tucson in 2007, and immediately felt right at home. That same year, Mandy became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) through The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This certification indicates Mandy possesses a greater depth of knowledge and skills related to her area of practice, placing her in an elite group of physical therapists nationwide. Clinically, her specialty is in orthopaedics and manual therapy, as well as developing a women’s health program in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions. Her clinical goal is to provide a professionally integrated approach to health and wellness. In September, she married her husband Lukas, who is also a physical therapist.

Matthew J. Kudron, PT, DPT, CSCS

Matt was born and raised in Columbus, Nebraska and attended University of Nebraska-Omaha. This is where he started to gain experience with human performance and enhancement. After completing his undergraduate studies, Matt continued at the University of Nebraska Medical Center to obtain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During his coursework at Nebraska Medical Center, Matt earned his certificate as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

During his final clinical rotation in the spring of 2010, Matt became familiar with the Athlon Physical Therapy team in East Tucson. Following this rotation, he relocated to Dallas, Texas to work in an Outpatient and Sports Medicine clinic. Having a strong desire to return to Arizona, Matt joined the Athlon team as a Physical Therapist in May 2011.

In January 2012, Matt plans to begin an Orthopedic Residency Program through Athlon and the Evidence in Motion Institute. Outside of his professional role, Matt likes to lead an active lifestyle which includes running, hiking, camping, bicycling, soccer, and volleyball.


Aileen Staebell, PTA

Aileen was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and relocated with her family to Tucson, AZ when she was in high school. Locally she graduated from Desert View High School. Aileen has always loved helping people, and has worked with persons with physical and mental challenges for 15 years. She is trained and fluent in American Sign Language. Aileen loves to travel and lived in England and New Zealand. Aileen has a very active and charming son, Jonathan.

Aileen started her career as a Rehab Technician. For the last 5 years she has enjoyed working in skilled nursing facilities. While there, she worked primarily with a Geriatric population and those requiring rehabilitation. In February of 2011, Aileen earned her Occupational Associates degree as a Physical Therapists Assistant from Pima Medical Institute. Soon after graduation, she joined the team at Athlon Physical Therapy. Aileen looks forward to further developing her Physical Therapist Assistant career by honing her manual and orthopedic skills.

Thomas J. O’Donnell, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS completed his undergraduate work at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he majored in exercise science. Tom continued on at Creighton achieving his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2003.

In 2011, Tom was recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. Tom now holds the distinction of being one of just a few therapists nationwide that is dually board certified in both Orthopaedics (OCS) and Sports (SCS) Physical Therapy. Tom is also a Certified Clinical Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association and serves as a clinical preceptor to students from physical therapy programs throughout the country.

Tom has experience treating elite college and high school athletes of all types with special focus on golfers, baseball players and soccer players. Tom has studied the biomechanics of the golf swing and is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical Golf Fitness Instructor. He has developed many post-operative rehabilitation protocols with the orthopaedic surgeons he works with, and has created functional sport tests for the shoulder, hip and knee to determine readiness for return to athletic participation. Tom has a passion for educating and has given lectures on Therapeutic Management of Hip Pathologies.

Tom enjoys working with a variety of musculoskeletal disorders of both the spine and extremities in the young and aging population. His areas of interest include rehabilitation of sports injuries, on-the-job injuries, motor vehicle accidents, repetitive overuse injuries, and post-surgical conditions.

In 2010 Tom and his wife Kristen relocated to Tucson from Portland, Oregon and have enjoyed exploring all that Southern Arizona has to offer. On the weekends Tom can usually be found on the golf course or hiking in the surrounding mountains.


Don Snyder, PT, COMT

Don received his B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania and has over 30 years of experience as a physical therapist. He has continued his education by taking numerous courses in orthopedics, sports medicine, and manual therapy.

The founder of Fort Lowell Physical Therapy in 1984, he is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) having obtained certification from the American Academy of Orthopedic Medicine in manual therapy of the extremities in March 1993 and the spine in November 1995. He continues to refine his skills with recent advances in functional exercise, manual therapy, and post operative surgical protocols. Don’s hobbies include tennis, running, skiing and windsurfing as well as spending quality time with his family.


Jonny Sue Perkins-Snyder, PT

Jonny Sue graduated from the University of NC at Chapel Hill with a BS in PT and has more than 24 years of experience primarily in orthopedic outpatient PT. For several years she focused on prevention and management of work related injuries, teaching classes on injury prevention to employees and employers, performing worksite assessments and functional capacity evaluations.

Currently, Jonny Sue specializes in orthopedic manual therapy and enjoys treating a variety of patients, helping them achieve their personal goals for rehab, whether it’s return to work, return to sports or simply getting back to their optimal level of function. On the personal side, Jonny Sue is a mother to 2 active daughters and stays busy with volunteer activities that include teaching Sunday School at her church and her daughter’s swim team. She also cheers on the UNC Tarheels whenever she can.

Andy graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2003 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has previously worked as a clinic director and as a clinical instructor with physical therapy and physical therapy assistant student interns from multiple schools including NAU and Pima Medical Institute.

Andy continues his education by regularly attending courses on the diagnosis and treatment of the spine and extremities. He has a special interest in sports rehabilitation and manual therapy and also has had special training in the fitting of orthotics. In his free time Andy enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking, softball and weight lifting in addition to spending time with his wife and young daughter.

Robert continues to serve as a faculty member and guest lecturer for the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Orthopaedic Residency Program, and he has served as a guest lecturer for the University of Arizona Medical School Orthopaedic Residency Program.

Robert has published articles that have appeared in such journals as Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy and The Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy. In 2000, Robert was the winner of The Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy & Ball Dynamics Award for Excellence in a Published Case Study. He has conducted several courses on topics such as hip/knee biomechanics, foot/ankle pathology, and manual therapy of the spine and shoulder. Robert has rehabilitated and trained both amateur and professional athletes. In his free time, Robert enjoys mountain biking, running and spending time with his family and friends. He resides in Oro Valley, AZ with his wife Karen, also a physical therapist, and their three sons, Noah, Matthew, and Drew.

Lukas Tvedt, PT, DPT, OCS

As a licensed physical therapist Lukas will be furthering his clinical specialty in orthopeadics by completing the Orthopaedic Clinical Residency through a group based out of Army Baylor Medical Center and Regis University.

Lukas continues to be an active member of The American Physical Therapy Association, including the Orthopaedic Section, Neurology Section, and Sports Physical Therapy Section. He has experience through the University of Southern California in outpatient and inpatient orthopaedics, outpatient neurologic rehabilitation, and sports rehabilitation in the Eastern and Western US. Prior to his graduate education Lukas conducted published research at Cal Poly, SLO on the topic of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy, and he continued during his doctoral education to aide in research in the Motor Behavior and Motor Control Laboratory at USC. In his free time, Lukas enjoys traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Lukas and his wife Mandy relocated to Tucson in 2007 and have continued to enjoy all that Southern Arizona has to offer. Originally from the Midwest, they have enjoyed the weather in particular.

During her years at Northern Arizona University, Amanda served as a student clinician on campus, assisted leading aquatic therapy classes for patients with multiple sclerosis, and performed fall risk assessments for local skilled nursing facilities and healthy adult wellness groups.

Amanda has practice experience through the university in both inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedic settings. She enjoys working with patients of all ages to enhance their function and well-being.

Amanda moved to Tucson in 2009 with her husband, Russell, who is also a physical therapist. Together they enjoy cycling, running, hiking, and playing softball. Amanda loves traveling, playing guitar, and supporting the Diamondbacks, even when they lose.

Cristina was raised in Bell, CA where she played soccer and ran most of her youth. As a student-athlete she studied Kinesiology and competed for Occidental College. Cristina obtained her doctorate in physical therapy at Mount Saint Mary’s College.

Her clinical experiences include outpatient orthopedics and geriatrics. She has performed research on patellofemoral pain syndrome and incontinence. Her passion includes working with individuals from all walks of life achieve their functional goals, especially older adults who wish to stay active.

In her free time, Cristina enjoys running, hiking, and exploring the great Arizona outdoors with her fiancé, Tim.

Kelly Sanders grew up here on the central coast. After graduating from Atascadero High School is 1992, she went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a minor in Exercise and Health Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

In 1999, she received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. Following graduation, Kelly completed a one-year residency program in orthopedic physical therapy at Kaiser West Los Angeles and Fortanasce & Associates Physical Therapy. She is board certified in orthopedic physical therapy and also is a certified athletic trainer. Matthew Wild came to San Luis Sports Therapy in December of 2003 from Tucson, Arizona where he worked as a Strategy & Business Analyst for one of the largest family owned pest control companies in the nation with approximately 70 offices and 1,100 employees.

His accounting career began in the finance industry as a financial analyst for a regional bank where he developed a Performance Measurement System and was responsible for Regulatory and Internal Reporting. Since then, he has worked in facility management and event coordination as well as a staff accountant until his most recent position where he worked on strategic planning and business acquisitions. Additionally, Matthew worked as a consultant in accounting and business planning and founded two business ventures. Matthew is licensed by the State of Arizona as a Certified Public Accountant.

In addition to his professional career, Matthew has also coached Age-Group and High School swimming teams for eight years. He has served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate, acting on behalf of abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system for six years. Matthew has his private pilot’s license and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, tennis, and, since moving to California, surfing.

Pam Orth Simpson joined the Movement for Life team as Controller in 2006 and currently serves as Treasurer. She brings over twenty years of accounting, finance, and management experience from prior employment with two different Fortune 500 restaurant corporations and as Controller for a local restaurant chain. During her career, Pam has been a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Caryn Black joined San Luis Sports Therapy in early 2008 as interim controller before becoming Director of the Billing Department in July of 2008. Her prior experience consists of four years as a realtor in an exclusive gated community in Lake Almanor, CA and 7 years as a Financial Analyst for Citibank.

Her career experience and education led to established skills in contract negotiation, sales, financial analysis, and management.

Caryn enjoys snowboarding, surfing and traveling, but most importantly trying to wrap her head around new phrases that come out of her preschooler’s mouth.

Jenna has a background in both wellness and business. She has been local to San Luis Obispo since 2000, earning both her degrees at Cal Poly. Jenna served as the Wellness Coordinator for the City of SLO, managing the wellness program for 350 city employees and also managed a team of 25 personal trainers at Kennedy Club Fitness.

Her work experience also includes five years of personal training and nutrition counseling, event planning, non-profit nutrition education for kids, copy writing, and teaching vinyasa yoga at Smiling Dog. Jenna studied international business in China and India as part of her MBA program. Her role as Director of Employee Services and Public Relations ties together her two degrees and work experience. Jenna enjoys being active in the community, playing competitive soccer, and running marathons.

Upon her graduation in 2008, Sarah made the trek up the coast of California to San Luis Obispo. She joined the Movement for Life family that year in July and has worked in the billing department, accounting department and marketing. Outside of her professional role, Sarah enjoys spending her time hiking, wine tasting, and spending time with her family, friends, boyfriend, and dog.

Randall was born and raised in California’s Central Valley and moved to San Luis Obispo in 1998. From physical labor to bartending and sales to office jobs, Randall has gained a lot of knowledge and experience in dealing with many different responsibilities and personality types throughout his professional career.

Just prior to working at San Luis Sports Therapy, Randall worked for a local branch of a widely-known real estate company for three years. Desiring a more structured work schedule, he found the San Luis Sports Therapy billing department. Before long, he was offered a position within Facilities/IT – which proved to be a better fit for his wide array of skills. The Marketing Department then took interest in Randall’s artistic side – where he created marketing and promotional content including t-shirts, posters and banners. From his work ethic and desire to grow, Randall was offered the dual roles of Director of Facilities & Purchasing Manager. He now works closely with the Accounting Department on many levels, as well as with the CEO of the company. In addition to those titles, being the team player that he is, Randall still wears many hats, tackling different projects and tasks on a daily basis for multiple departments and people. This includes managing storage, sitting on the Marketing Committee, and even serving as the local space planner.

Randall, his lovely wife and their son currently reside in San Luis Obispo.

Ashley was hired in 2004 as a PT Aide and worked the front desk at Athlon Health and Fitness in San Luis Obispo. He then became a Personal Trainer, taught Group Fitness (and is still a favorite instructor) and has served in different management capacities with Athlon.

Ashley continued to provide support to Athlon while taking on more duties within the IT/Facilities department over the past couple years. In addition to his IT duties, Ashley coordinates (and writes articles for) the quarterly company-wide newsletters for which he implemented a new design and has brought a very refined/professional feel. He manages still to include personal training sessions and group fitness instruction. He also serves as a champion of fitness and team spirit for the Administration and Billing team as he encourages more involvement in fitness and workouts as well as other group activities.

Ashley has earned his role through his willingness to learn and take on new challenges. His calm and friendly approach helps in this often thankless and challenging position. Ashley has contributed much behind the scenes to the company web sites and our systems and is poised to leading the continuing evolution of our use of technology.

Stacey Jensen Ritter, MS, ATC is Director of Sports Medicine & Athletic Training, overseeing the high school outreach, and industrial athletic training programs.

After completing her education, she served as Associate Director of Athletic Training, and Department of Sports Sciences instructor at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.

After many years as a university Athletic Trainer, Stacey moved to the high school setting, and found a true mission in bringing the highest standard of athletic health care to young competitors. Over the years, she has worked with Olympians, professional athletes and NCAA champions, and has been on several international playing tours with athletic teams.

Areas of special interest include psychology of injury, the adolescent athlete experience, and concussion education. She also finds time to serve on boards and committees that advance and promote the role of Athletic Trainers in the high school setting.

Stacey loves drawing, painting, and outrigger canoe racing. Her husband, Chris, is also an Athletic Trainer, and they enjoy running, hiking and being on the ocean.

Casey Guenther

Casey Guenther came to San Luis Sports Therapy with a background in business-to-business sales, retail sales, marketing, internet marketing, and customer relations. He was a leading account manager for Robert Half, International in the Sacramento area and directed Racquetball Warehouse here in San Luis Obispo.

Prior to accepting the position with San Luis Sports Therapy, Casey managed IS Imports, a national wholesaler and internet retailer here on the Central Coast. Together he brings with him a broad range of business, customer relations, and quality care experience.

In addition to his professional career, Casey was a member of the NCAA Champion UC Santa Cruz Tennis Team in 1998, and a scholar athlete at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He still enjoys playing tennis, running, and outdoor adventure sports. He resides in his hometown San Luis Obispo.

Heidi Coffee is the Director of Business Development for Delta and Central Valley Physical Therapy. She is responsible for the Business Development of four Clinics in the Central Valley area. Heidi brings over 20 years of experience of strong outside sales, combined with marketing and promotional expertise in area of medical diagnostic imaging.

Heidi’s has proven skills identifying and capitalizing on a changing and challenging health care industry trends.

She is especially skilled at establishing, developing and maintaining long lasting professional relationships with her clients such as Sutter Health, City and County San Francisco, General Mills just to name a few. She is resourceful and creative thinker with strong negotiation skills. In her spare time Heidi enjoys yoga, gardening and entertaining family and friends. Heidi lives in Lodi, CA.

Carrie and her husband Brad relocated to the Tucson area from Colorado in 2010 and are enjoying the warmer climate and beautiful sunsets. In Colorado, Carrie attended Aims Community College and Colorado Christian University. Having owned and operated a Health Club of her own in Colorado, she is experienced in both the customer service side of business and the management.

Carrie is a certified yoga instructor and enjoys helping people obtain their fitness goals.

Carrie is a perpetual marketer. She has found the perfect career in business development with Athlon Physical Therapy. She looks forward to tomorrow and in being part of such a wonderful company.

In her free time, Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband Brad. Together they enjoy family, their two dogs, traveling, golf, exercise, friends and a good bottle of wine.

James E. Glinn, PT, DPT, OCS is the Founder of the Movement For Life Team with locations in Arizona and California. He shares responsibility for the leadership, strategic planning and operations of the multi-facility organization, while heading up the wellness and lifestyle programming for the Team.

Jim is a graduate of the medical center at Loma Linda University, and he completed his doctorate in Physical Therapy through the University of St. Augustine and the North American Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Glinn serves as faculty for the EIM and Northeastern University Doctoral programs. Currently, James serves as the Vice Chair for the Physical Therapy Business Alliance. In both his personal and professional experiences, Jim has coached and rehabilitated All-Americans, Olympians, Amateur and Professional athletes.
