At Movement for Life Physical Therapy our mission is simple, to provide the best patient centered care to our local communities. We strive to work with a personal network of physicians and community leaders in Southern Arizona, to allow us to achieve this mission.
We are a group of outpatient private practice physical therapy clinics who have earned the National Private Practice Award from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). We provide geographical access with 4 locations: Oro Valley in the North, Green Valley in the South, Tanque Verde in the East, and Ft. Lowell Centrally. We boast highly educated practitioners who are doctorally trained, board certified orthopedic specialists, fellowship/residency trained, as well as leaders and educators in the physical therapy field. We are preferred providers for most insurance plans, and offer very reasonable self-pay rates for those patients that seek our services when insurance coverage is unavailable.
In forming relationships with leading physicians and community partners, we continue to strive toward our common goal of bettering the health and physical well-being in Southern Arizona. We are actively involved in our communities through sponsorships and participation in a variety of events and activities. You can see us supporting local Southern Arizona school districts, fundraising for Youth on Their Own, volunteering with The Tucson Marathon, Ben's Bells Project, Shyann Kindness Program or as an official sponsor for the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl just to name a few.
Our team operates within a unique and collaborative ESOP model, where each person on our team of employees is an owner. This is special because it guarantees our team members all have a vested interest in the experience and success of each patient that enters our clinics. The profits generated by our team are invested back into our company and the communities we serve rather than being siphoned off to outside owners or corporate shareholders. We are invested in the success of every person we serve, including you.
Movement for Life Clinics strive to provide wide-access to a physically active lifestyle through services efficiently delivered by able professionals in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere as part of the communities we serve.
We are very involved in the communities we have the opportunity to serve. We believe that healthcare is local and should be a collaborative effort. We see ourselves as an integral part of each client’s medical team so are committed to communication, team work and support of all members of the medical team.
Being a part of the community is something we are very passionate about. Annually, Team Movement For Life® collaborates with local school districts to fund the cost of providing Athletic Training services in nine local high schools totaling several hundred thousand dollars each year. These programs provide daily on-site medical coverage for student athletes at practices and games including the recent launch of ImPACT, a valuable concussion-testing program. The Athletic Training program allows financially challenged schools to ensure the health and safety of their student-athletes. This is just one way we reach out.
Throughout the year, each of the clinics collect money for local causes and participates in local events such as the MS Walk, the Heart Walk, Go Red for Women, START!, Miracle Miles for Kids, Relay for Life and many more. Led by our team of Athletic Trainers, we support Breast Cancer Awareness by outfitting local high school athletes in pink shirts and gear for Pink October. Our team also finds great pleasure in sponsoring local athletic teams and organizations, and providing community lectures and free backpack screenings for kids in all clinics.
The Movement for Life Team was awarded the 2012 Jane L. Snyder National Private Practice of the Year Award. This award is granted annually by the Private Practice Section (PPS) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). It is given to recognize colleagues who have made outstanding and innovative contributions to the physical therapy profession and in support of private practice physical therapy.
This honor is the result of the cumulative efforts of Movement for Life. We are enormously proud of the people that come together every day to support, promote, and provide physical therapy services to the communities that we have the opportunity to serve. “With all these remarkable people we’ve embodied four key points in our vision – to recruit, retain, and reward the best people; to provide cutting edge service; to expand and grow our people, our company, our services, and our facilities; and to do it all through efficient and effective communication and teamwork,” said Jim Glinn, Jr., founder of Team Movement for Life, as he accepted the award.
“The bar for community service was set very high by Dr. Jane Snyder; and the Movement for Life clinics are active members of their communities. They partner with local high schools to provide athletic training services to their students. They’re involved in community outreach programs and support many charitable organizations through community fundraising events,” said the award presenter.
At Movement for Life Physical Therapy, Movement for Life is everything we do. Improving and enhancing the lives of our team and the communities we serve. We believe that we can change more lives together than we can alone. We love what we do. We love helping people. We love providing Movement for Life.
Over the years we have both needed physical therapy after various injuries and surgeries. Recently we were referred to Athlon by Carl’s surgeon and Gail’s primary healthcare provider. The care that we’ve received at Athlon has been excellent. The big difference we see when comparing Athlon to other therapists we have visited is the atmosphere and attitude of the entire staff. When you walk in you are greeted with a smile at the front desk and after a couple of visits, everyone knows your name. They greet you with a smile, a wave and a “Hi”! You feel like a member of the Athlon family and less like another patient. All the therapists and assistants show genuine interest in helping you understand your treatment and achieving your goals to improve your way of life. Gail will need physical therapy again soon for a hip replacement. She has requested Athlon be her therapist after her surgery.~ Carl & Gail
